Rytr Review — What is Rytr?

Rytr is an AI writing assistant that makes it easy to generate various types of content, including blog posts, business pitches, emails, landing pages and more.

Just like many other AI writer tools out there, Rytr is quite a powerful tool, and it can generate highly engaging articles in minutes. All you have to do for it to work its magic is type in a description of what you’d like written.

While Rytr AI doesn’t have the ability to create flawless content that doesn’t require any more human intervention, it certainly simplifies the writing process.

As you would expect from an AI content generator, Rytr is based on the same GPT-3 technology that has revolutionized content creation in recent years.

Rytr Key Features

Rytr comes packed with tones of features to make the entire writing process easier, no matter what type of writing you’re looking for.

Here are some of the key features of this tool:

Tone

You get a total of 21 tones (and growing) to pick from, which increases your chances of appealing to your exact target demographic.

You can choose your preferred tone from a drop-down list after writing some of the content. The drop-down list is located right next to the languages option.

Examples of tones you can choose from include:

  • Casual
  • Convincing
  • Humorous
  • Worried
  • Passionate
  • Formal

By using the right tone for your content, you can easily determine the effect your words have on readers.

Multiple Content Generation Options

You can ask Rytr to create content for you on almost any topic. It can write practically any form of text you require, ranging from outlines and blog posts to song lyrics.

Short-form content is where the tool truly shines. Rytr does a pretty good job with emails and social media posts.

On the other hand, you’ll quickly notice that it doesn’t perform quite as well with long-form content. While Rytr is good at creating introductions, it can’t write entire articles, even though it comes with a blog post option.

Grammar Checking

Rytr has very basic grammar checking, which can help fix very obvious spelling and grammar mistakes.

Since the purpose of the tool is a different one, you can’t check an entire blog post or article for grammar. However, you can use Rytr to rephrase sentences, which comes in handy in various situations, such as turning passive voice into active voice.

Multiple Languages

While many AI writing tools only support English, Rytr supports multiple languages so you can expand your writing horizons.

The tool supports 30+ languages, ranging from French, German and Italian to Hindi, Korean and Hebrew.

What is Rytr best for?

You can use Rytr to write all types of content, but its short-form content such as product descriptions and social media ads and copy are where it truly shines.

The tool is extremely helpful for those moments you’re dealing with writer’s block. While it won’t do all the work for you, Rytr will help you stop staring at a blank screen because you don’t have the inspiration to start writing your copy.

Rytr is an AI writing tool suitable for social media experts, online marketers, and bloggers. Here is a quick overview of what it can help you with:

  • Blog and article writing – Rytr can generate titles, outlines, and meta descriptions according to the parameters you set. It can even write entire blog sections for you. It doesn’t have the capability to write long-form quality content though.
  • Social media ads – With Rytr, you can write creative and original ads for Facebook, LinkedIn and Google ads.
  • Email – It only takes seconds to write catchy emails for sales or marketing.
  • Copywriting – Generate various types of copy for your brand, company, or products.
  • YouTube – You can use Rytr to write SEO-optimized, original titles and outline ideas for your YouTube channel.
  • SEO content – Rytr can help you improve your SEO by writing optimized meta descriptions and titles for your blog posts and articles.

How to Use Rytr

Now that you have a good idea about what Rytr can do, it’s time to put it to the test. I tested it to write a blog post section and a product description to see if the tool can generate fluent and accurate copy.

In the first test, I asked for a blog section about AI writing. I entered a title for the topic and two keywords and let Rytr do its thing.

As you can see from the screenshot below, the copy is on topic, but it’s quite repetitive and sounds like ESL writing. It would take quite a bit of text editing to turn into high-quality content.

“These machines will never be able to write like humans do” is, ironically, the best sentence in this paragraph.

For the second example, I asked Rytr to write a product description for a toothbrush. I fed it the product name – an Oral B Smart 5 Toothbrush – and the first sentence of the product description on Amazon.

You’ll definitely get the best results by providing maximum input in the “About Product” section. I tested it with just a sentence, and the final copy was not that bad.

As you can see from the screenshot below, I asked for two variants of the product description

Both of them read well, but when it comes to accuracy, things aren’t that good anymore. The Oral-B Smart 5 Toothbrush doesn’t have laser-guided technology, which goes to show that it’s important to pay attention to fact-checking when using AI tools such as Rytr.

Rytr Pricing

Rytr AI offers a free version, which you can use to get accustomed to its features. The free plan only allows you to write 5K characters per month, which is not a lot but enough to get an idea of what the tool can do for you.

The Saver plan starts from $9 and allows you to generate up to 50K characters per month. With this plan, you get access to 20+ tones, 30+ use cases and access to the premium community.

If you need to generate unlimited characters, go for the Unlimited plan for $29 per month, which has all the features of the Saver Plan plus priority email and chat support and a dedicated account manager.

If you choose an annual subscription, you also receive two months free.

Plagiarism

Rytr has integrated Copyscape checks, which means that all the content it generates is plagiarism-free.

You can easily check if any of the text is original by highlighting a sentence and clicking the “More” section to bring up the plagiarism checker.

There’s a limit of 1600 characters you can check at once. If Copyscape detects any plagiarism, you’ll be able to see the results in a pop-up.

This feature is one definite advantage that a Rytr review has over other AI content generators. You don’t have to leave the tool to check if your text is original, which speeds the writing process up considerably.

It’s important to remember that while there’s no separate fee for plagiarism checks, the characters processed count against your monthly usage. There’s also a limit of 50,000 characters you can check for plagiarism every month.

Accuracy

Things are pretty hit-and-miss with Rytr when it comes to accuracy. If you’re using the tool to rewrite or expand existing content, the results are pretty decent. For example, you can provide it with a product description and get an improved, longer version with one click.

However, if you intend to use it to generate content from scratch, you’re unlikely to get good results. A lot of the information generated is simply incorrect, and the content is full of fabrications. This means that you need to spend a lot of time fact-checking the copy, which defeats the purpose of using a content generator.

Besides being often inaccurate, the content will also break off at random places, and there’s no option to ask the tool to complete an unfinished sentence. This is important to note in any Rytr review.

Rytr Pros

  • Ease of use – Rytr is very easy to use and, unlike many other AI writing tools, it’s quite intuitive. You can easily find your way around in minutes, and there are lots of comprehensive tutorials available if you need extra help.
  • Original content – All the content generated by Rytr is original, and 100% passes plagiarizing tests such as Copyscape.
  • Free plan available – Many AI content writing tools require your credit card details to try them, but with Rytr, you get access to a free plan of up to 5K characters a month.
  • Numerous tones and use cases – With Rytr, you can choose from dozens of tones and use cases. This makes it easy to find the right tone for the exact type of content you’re looking for.

Rytr Cons

  • Accuracy – The biggest downside of using Rytr (and any other AI writing tools, for that matter), is that the information they include in the content is not always accurate. This will differ from one topic to another, but Rytr will often simply fabricate facts.
  • Repetitive and vague content Content generated by Rytr can be really hit or miss. Sometimes, you’ll get a very fluent and engaging section. Other times, you’ll get three sentences in a row that say the same thing in different words.
  • Doesn’t generate complete articles – If you’re looking for a tool that can help you write long-form articles, Rytr is not it. You can use it to create outlines and short paragraphs, but the tool doesn’t have the ability to generate long-form content.

Rytr Alternatives

The AI industry has been growing at a swift pace in recent years, which means that there are quite a few Rytr alternatives out there.

All of them have their ups and downs, but the tools below are good alternatives for Rytr:

The AI tools above all have similar features to Rytr, and the main areas where they’re different are in pricing and the ability to write long-form content

You can test all the tools above with a free trial (you may need to provide your credit card information) to decide which one is best suited for your needs.

Rytr Review Conclusion

Even though Rytr is a newcomer in the AI writing world, it has multiple features that are just as good as those offered by more expensive tools such as Jarvis AI, for example.

Rytr is an easy-to-use tool that’s powerful enough to help you generate creative content. It does have its downsides, just like any other AI content generator out there, but overall, it works quite well, especially for short-term content

One of the best things about Rytr is that you can test it quite extensively for free. You don’t even need to enter your credit card detail, as Rytr is free for up to 5K characters per month. That’s quite enough to put it to the test before switching to a monthly subscription plan.

Try Rytr Now!

To sum up this Rytr review, this is a great tool to help you with writer’s block and content creation. It can help you create original outlines for various types of copy. It won’t generate high quality content that you don’t have to edit anymore, but overall it offers some pretty solid ideas provided you feed it the right context.
